Resistance is Futile

Tonight I decided to take trip into the past...I logged onto MySpace. What I found was partially what I had expected - to have not missed anything - and partially an unexpected delight - my old blog.
Upon review of my old posts I found myself really enjoying remembering some of my thoughts and feelings from that time, along with A LOT of misspelled words and punctuation/grammatical errors. It was Hailey's first year of life and I was still in the beginning of graduate school - even though it was only 2006 it seems like a lifetime of events has happened since then! Hailey is now 4yrs old and she has a baby sister - our Norah peanut (Norah Caroline really, the peanut just seemed to happen on its own...).

In January, Hailey started attending preschool 4 days/week and she absolutely loves it, her first words every morning are "Is today a school day, Mom?". Her favorite thing about school is lining up - like when the teacher says "Ok, everyone line up at the door to go to the bathroom"....trust me, when it's her day to be the line leader, everyone knows. She is so smart it amazes me every day; she can do all her adding up to about 10, she can write her first name and is a wiz at matching.

Norah is such a fun baby; and almost not a baby anymore! She will be 1yr old March 25th. She has been walking for a solid month now and FINALLY is starting to like eating real food! She has been totally indifferent to solid food with the exception of avacodo until about the last 2 weeks. She says "uh-oh" about a million times a day and says "da-da" when prodded by Lane. Her main goal in life seems to be to get away with something, doesn't matter what, just SOMETHING...."oh, no one is looking, perfect! I'll crawl all the way up the stairs, or maybe just eat some ashes out of the fireplace, or pull all the cords out of the back of the computer". She loves to give hugs and kisses (meaning she licks your face) and shakes her little booty every chance she gets!!

I guess I have realized that If I would like to have more nostalgic evenings like this in the future, I need to start banking the memories now. So, I reluctantly enter the blogging world. Read if you like, I just know I'll enjoy it later.
