DUCK!

It's what's for dinner. Lane stumbled across a duck at Aldi's (my favorite place to shop) a few weeks ago and we pulled it out and decided to cook it up today. It was yummy...much more greasy than I was expecting, but very tasty. I used this very easy recipe from Ina Garten. She's not my favorite food network personality - she is very 'hamptons' and her recipes always call for about 29 ingredients that no normal person has in their kitchen - BUT this recipe was very simple and relatively quick compared to some others.

A few weeks ago I made some 'from scratch' chocolate pudding that was SO good - here is the recipe that I used for that (for chocolate just scroll to the bottom - and really, you always want chocolate)

In other news...exactly one year ago today I was well into the second stage of child labor...imagining that there was no way in the WORLD that this could go on for another 4 hours...but alas it did...and Norah Caroline was born. Lane's favorite recolection of the event: that I almost sat on her head. TMI? Sorry, it's my blog. Anyway my main memory is the midwife's voice saying 'wow! she's HUGE!' hehe...she was, but not THAT huge.

they do grow up fast :)
